One Year

Just realized that today essentially marks one year after the effective end of our time at Basis. Amazing how much happens.

Gotta Strut Out of this Rut

Always been planning on contributing to the blog but I never really felt like my current events at the time were ever good enough. It was great seeing everyone over winter break whether it be at my house, briefly at BASIS, the Loft, or even over Skype. Sadly, Alex Davis was the only person I did not see. Lots happened over the winter break and it was hard to keep that momentum of fun in my upcoming semester. From Mondo Mondays, Spelunking, Pizza Parties, old get-togethers, etc. to sleep deprivation, low motivation, and school. I would say I've been in a bit of a rut.

Still, aside from school being typical school I've been trying to remain active in goals I've had for quite some time. I've been working towards becoming a Triathlete for some time but progress has gotten a bit slow. Besides triathlons I've taken an interest in boxing and hope to find a way to work it into my not busy schedule. If I ever finally develop a disinterest in sitting down and doing nothing I also would like to pick up the camera again and get better at making short videos and progressing towards more impressive work. Lots of endeavors. I hope to be kind of a changed hombre the next time you guys see me, only about four months.

Recent news doesn't have much actual "content" I would say, school and the familiar face every now and then. Recently something interesting happened while I was grabbing lunch at a Carls jr. I was at the Carls jr. for some food deal for lunch since I've been trying to save money by not eating at the University. Got home and started eating and my brother arrives home just in time to steal the last sandwich and napkin. I guess within the napkin the cashier I met at the Carls jr. put a note with her number in there for me. My mom and bro proceeded to tease me and check to see if the note was a photo copy and if I was just one of many. Needless to say, I was flattered and felt the need to post about one of the better events of my week on facebook. Don't think I will be calling this girl but I'm guessing giving a thanks would be appropriate. Other news that's been boosting my moral is that I also got a letter today, thanks Grainne(sucks I never found your first one). Hope to have more to share with you guys in the immediate future if you guys are still reading this blog.

Stolen Verse

It's been awhile since anyone has posted on here, thought I could contribute. I wish we could have hung out more while I was in town but unfortunately my breaks are very short. What have you guys been up to wherever you may be? Cool adventures? How are your classes? Keep the blog alive and tell your stories!

With regards from Olympia-

Ski what?

Anyone interested in a ski trip over the winter break? New Mexico? Colorado? Utah? They're all somewhat close and I know there was interest in doing something together over the break.

Coming to a Mailbox Near You

If you posted your address to the Facebook group expect a letter in the mail shortly, (or now depending). =D

I've spent several hours in the last week procrastinating and writing letters to everyone because it seemed like such a great idea and few of us have followed through with it. Also because I've realized the immense joy one gets in getting mail that is not another coupon book.

Otherwise life has been lovely. The temperature is finally cooling down, although we are still decidedly in short and flip-flop weather. And life is moving along. With just four weeks until winter break (and the end of our first semester of college) I can't believe how quickly time is flying by.

I hope you all had wonderful Halloweens! I dressed up with a bunch of girls from my hall as the Disney Princesses, not very original but still very fun. The quote when we showed up at one party was "The whole fucking Disney Channel just showed up". Priceless. Other than that the rest of the weekend was unremarkable. ASU won the football game, drunk people stormed the campus, same old same old.

Here's hoping everyone did great on their midterms! Can't wait to see you all over Christmas break!

Skyping shenanigans and Winter plans.

Like 10 minutes to set up on the computer and get chattin' away with people if ya got a mic. and camera thing on your computer. Had a wicked 4 and a half hour conversation with Cody and Rita yesterday night that was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be, especially compared to typing things in Facebook group chat(not that there is anything wrong about it). Glad to see some forms of communication rolling around between us but it gives me less and less to write about in letters since "How is college?" has already been thrown in. I really hope to get as much done as possible so I can have things to show and tell when we chat or reunion in the next few months. We are going to do something and unfortunately it will require planning. That's all for now, still countin' the days until winter reunion.

Just Follow the Sound of the Drum

It's been awhile since I've heard from anybody, except Cody really, and that upsets me (nothing against Cody). How is everyone doing? I will be getting some stationary in the next few days, so you should start expecting letters from me if you gave me your address. Hope all is well wherever you may be, we really all should talk more...
