Of Disappointments and Datasheets
Alright, so today is my first day working from home on my project. So far I have calculated the transfer functions for the basic, single pole filters I will be using in simulations. My next step, which is proving more difficult, is mere research. I am rapidly finding that datasheets for microphones do not necessarily list their frequency response curves or other related data necessary for my simulations to proceed correctly. I am currently preparing to calibrate my studio speakers to determine frequency response curves for the few electret microphones I have. Stay tuned for more.

Maybe this is my ignorance showing but I thought you were working on designing digital stethoscopes?
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm designing the front-end hardware, which takes a microphone input, amplifies it, cuts all frequencies above 2.5kHz out of it, then feeds it to a DSP module. The amplifiers are proving finicky though
